Pedestrians crossing Miller are seriously at risk of being hit by cars in the dusk or evening. I have been nearly hit many times this last year, as I and others get off the #4 GG Transit bus and try to cross the street between Safeway and Whole Foods on Miller. I have taken to wearing light clothes and flashing red lights but people in a rush just don't see pedestrians at night--or bikers either. Immediately I would urge the City to install
better lightening on the cross walks, keep trees trimmed away from the lights. A more expensive solution would be to line the cross walks with blinking yellow LEDS when a person is present in the cross walk. ( That would create other problems in the flow of cars, but the current situation is
not acceptable.)
