Every day on my way to and from the freeway I sit in traffic as E. Blithedale narrows from two lanes to one lane and back to two lanes again. I have asked about this in the past and was told it can't be done - it is too narrow, with the hill on one side and the creek on the other.

I disagree and think it would make a huge difference in traffic. All it would take is narrowing the striping on the lanes a little, cutting into the hillside a little, and maybe building out over the creek a little. I bet there is even room for a bike lane.
