Follow the model used by City Fields Foundation in San Francisco. Youth sports are currently constrained by lack of access to athletic fields, especially during the rainy season and in the winter when the days are shorter. Lighted synthetic turf fields lined for soccer, lacrosse, baseball and softball would be a welcomed addition to our community. Tam High field time is currently at a premium. Parents often drive long distances to practices/games at other turf fields in the county. Restrict lighted operation to 9pm (this still gives 4 hours of extra field time in the winter). The quality of coaching will improve as practices can be in the evenings. Source the funding from a public/private partnership. Maintenance in the long run will be less. There are so many reasons for this type of initiative.
