Drive through a neighborhood and some remodeled homes stand out like a sore thumb. It's hard for regular folk to know what a proposed home will look like. Whoa, how did some of those get by city hall??!! If there were drawings or mock-ups available online that show the proposed home as it would be, showing it in relation to other homes next to it, residents would know when a proposed remodel is out of line. City hall probably doesn't hear the clusters of neighbors that that ask "How did THAT happen"? It's obvious to residents and it's evident that it's not always obvious to city officials when a remodel is out of character for the neighborhood.
