So much focus here on traffic... but maybe that's OK?

At first I was thinking it was pedestrian (sic) to be so focused on traffic. How can you be visionary if you're bogged down in tactical traffic stuff. Sheesh, even from the moment you arrive @ MV2040 you are asked: "What is your vision for Mill Valley 30 years from today? How would you make Mill Valley a better place to work, live, and GET AROUND?"

Can we really define our future by solving a traffic problem? Is that all we have? Is it that much of a problem over all else?

On the other hand, maybe it really deserves such top billing. Maybe by coming up with clever workarounds to traffic chokepoints (that maybe can never be fixed fast enough soon enough) we get so many things that go along with it.

Imagine really better carpooling and ridesharing intra-town and what that really means for it it to get embraced and used.

Imagine really better delivery services in-town to avoid one-off trips.

Imagine it becomes like any other country where gas is very expensive and bikes are truly thought of as a first alternative.

I'm sure others will opine here... but maybe as curious as it is solving traffic means we transform in many still-unimaginable (and maybe still not credible) ways in the process.

We could become a model city. Make that a model village.
